TRIVIA HOW THE in tears~ AND under the rain TRILOGIES STARTED
When did the idea came in?
The idea of this collaboration started when I told
Ms. Patricia Gabriel that I'm writing a story and I bumped in with a folder in the documents entitled 'in tears~'. I told her that I know I really have a plan of trilogy with this title but I forgot the names of the characters, the summary and how it will be alive. Then, we came to an idea to make the trilogy to a collaboration. Later that night, I found some clues that lead to the titles of those two trilogies and nothing more were found.
I recovered some times that it was Friday, 22nd of March when this collaboration have life again/
What's the very first idea?
The very first idea with the in tears~ and under the rain trilogies is to start writing the in tears~ trilogy first under the narration of a female heroine. And then later on as we are on the progress of writing it, we'll start with the under the rain. As I clearly remember, the next day, I think of a very good plot and names for the characters of 'Lena Larmes' and 'Lien Craintes'. Then when I hand the summary I plan that has to do with a magic with the tears and the characters, Ms. Gabriel suggested the idea of a guy named 'Germain' (she likes it for unknown reason). And I just can't give up 'Lien's name so I told her that we'll have two female heroines and two male heroes.
The first plot of the trilogies were very different from what it is now. The first plot has to do with something magical about the tears. Yet, we came up with the idea on how it is running now.
How did the titles came up?
Like I said in the first question, the titles for the books of the trilogies were only the few remnants of what I got from the folder of 'in tears~' in the documents, and we decided to stick with it.
Why is it a trilogy?
Because the idea of having it to a series would make it too long and also with the titles that becomes the main stick out idea.
How's the narration pattern?
We decided to have the female heroines' narrations with in tears~ and the male heroes' narrations with under the rain.
How did the characters given life?
I and Ms. Gabriel has our own female heroines and male heroes so we created them in different type and forms, based on different ideas and imagination.
For me, the creation of Lena Larmes was one of the easiest. I wrote her narrations like I'm really her. I created her composed like I am with the feelings and is respectful to follow the rules. And with Lien Craintes, I based him from Marie Lu's male hero Daniel Altan Wing or simply Day, as the young teenage criminal most sought by the police but I made him happy and carefree by nature, dead serious when it has to do with personal things and indeed chivalrous to women (a smooth talker).
Someone also asked me this next three questions:
Who is Patricia Gabriel?
For anyone out there that doesn't know her, she's the Salutatorian of her batch last school year. That means, she is a year older than me. She is the bearer of the Scroll of Knowledge which was passed to me and we grow close when we were fangirling together during the La Salle Cavite Search Competition. We call each other, 'pre', as a sign of friendship. But I call her with more respect in here. We treat each other like siblings, the same way like Lena Larmes and Elise Gray (our characters). And I'm telling you, she is one great writer as well and she is a great collab pal when it comes to mystery and action. Like me, she likes to torture our characters the same way as I.
What's with 'in tears'?
in tears~ trilogy was set on year 2025 in the reformed Tasavalta, previously known as the Philippines, twenty-seven years ago, everything changes. Lena Larmes and Elise Gray were the best of friends and treats each other like siblings and they were on their Senior year when their worlds collide in with their school's principal's son, Germain Detro and the most wanted criminal of the Republic, Lien Craintes. They were the first generations of the procedure conducted to the children ordered by the government itself. They need to find what's behind with that thing, what's with the war on the South and where a budding-romance seems to hinder the three rules every children with the procedure was given.
Were 'in tears~' and 'under the rain' different to each other?
The answer is 'no'. The only difference with these two trilogies is that, in tears~ was written under the narrations of the female heroines: Lena Larmes and Elise Gray, while under the rain was written under the perspectives of the male heroes: Lien Craintes and Germain Detro.
